Abstract

Exosomes are membrane vesicles secreted by cells, present in many body fluids. High hopes for diagnosis and anti-cancer therapy are associated in the use of exosomes. It has been shown that exosomes containing antibodies can be used for the precise transport of drugs to cancer cells. Such treatment can reduce damage to healthy cells of the body, which is an important issue of effective cancer therapy. These nanovesicles may be a potential tool to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors and their metastases to other organs. The relationship between exosomes and the mechanism of resistance to currently used anticancer drugs is also being investigated. The subject of this review is to present the latest discoveries regarding the use of exosomes in cancer therapy in the most common cancers.
